The Treasurer has today announced the appointment of the members of the International Advisory Panel to the Financial System Inquiry (FSI). They are:

  • Sir Michael Hintze AM (London), founder and chief executive of CQS, a global multi strategy asset management firm. Prior to CQS, he held senior roles at Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB) and Goldman Sachs.
  • Dr David Morgan AO (London), head of private equity group JC Flowers in Europe and Asia Pacific and former Westpac CEO. He has also been a deputy secretary of the Australian Treasury, and worked for the IMF.
  • Ms Jennifer Nason (New York), Global Chairman of Technology, Media and Telecom Investment Banking at JP Morgan Chase & Co.
  • Mr Andrew Sheng (Hong Kong), leading commentator on global finance, and has previously held senior positions in the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority and the World Bank.

The Panel is intended to advise the FSI on international competitiveness and offshore regulatory frameworks.
